Background
Born to parents who worked for the local school districts, James Hernandez grew up in Laredo, Texas. He attended Alexander High School and later Baylor University. In 2003, he completed his university studies and was awarded with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Following his graduation from Baylor University, Mr. Hernandez worked as a high school teacher for eight years in Laredo, in the footsteps of his parents.
Later on, Mr. Hernandez was accepted into the prestigious Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, TX. During his time at TMSL, he got the opportunity to work as an intern for the Honorable Chief Justice Wallace Jefferson at the Texas Supreme Court, advocate for homeless rights at the Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy, and serve as President of the TMSL Chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC).
After he passed the bar, Mr. Hernandez opened the James Hernandez Law Firm, PLLC, where he continues to fight for the rights of others through legal representation and advocacy.
Mr. Hernandez is happily married to his wife Ana Laura and has two beautiful children.
